When you think about jewellery, there’s so many choices to look at and each one feels like it’s a direct reflection of you as a person. What does this piece say about my personality, what I project to the world, the choices I make? Why not just buy things because they’re beautiful and fun?
One of my favourite things about polymer clay is the endless creativity that can come from creating everything from scratch. Polymer Clay is soft and mouldable during the creation process which means it can be made into any shape you can think of. The colours can be blended from the prime colours which means it can be any colour you can think of. Importantly it’s also relatively cheap to get into, meaning most of what you pay for in a polymer clay creation is the time your artist spent making the piece.
Polymer clay has become an incredible launch pad for artists to put their imagination into a piece of wearable art with few barriers. This can be mini replicas of real life objects, cartoony creations of cute characters or patterns in abstract or familiar prints. The options are limited mostly to what our imaginations can think of...and what our audience is drawn to.
I’ll be back and creating again soon once the Christmas break is over. Smooch and Bye! x
